Quaboag 350th Grand Ball tickets available

WEST BROOKFIELD — Tickets for the Quaboag 350th grand ball are now available. The initial event in 2010, the Quaboag area’s 350th anniversary year, will be held Saturday, Jan. 2 in the Great Hall of West Brookfield Town Hall, following a 5 p.m. dinner at Salem Cross Inn in West Brookfield.

To accommodate those who wish to attend only the dance or the dinner, tickets will be sold for the dinner only for $40, the ball only for $40, or both at $80 per person. Tickets may be obtained by sending a check, payable to Quaboag 350th, to Jean Tamm, 20 Shea Road, West Brookfield, MA 01585. Buyers are reminded to include name, address, phone number and which event they wish to attend if they do not choose to attend both the dinner and the ball. Tickets are limited to those of age 21 or older. The hall is handicapped accessible.

The Great Hall will be open at 7 p.m., where attendees may be photographed, if they wish, in their semiformal or period attire; a photo disc may be ordered then for $10.

A colonial dance demonstration will be presented at 7:30, followed by the 8 p.m. march of the dignitaries to their seats of honor. Gov. Deval Patrick and other state dignitaries and their spouses have been invited. Semi-formal dress will be the order of the evening, but the committee encourages period costume.
