Parent’s Rights Workshop
January 14 (Thursday) 6pm Parent’s Rights Workshop The Federation for Children With Special Needs will present an informal program focusing on special education laws and how they affect parent’s rights. The workshop is sponsored by the Quaboag Regional School District’s Special Education and Title I departments and will be held in the library at the Warren Community Elementary School on South Street in West Warren.
It is important for parents to learn what their rights and responsibilities are under Special Education and No Child Left Behind (NCLB) laws. The Parent’s Rights Workshop presented by the federation provides families with an introduction to these sometimes confusing laws. Parents will learn their rights and responsibilities, and how to become partners with the school for their children’s education. This workshop is free and open to all. Parents with children of all learning levels are encouraged to attend this informative workshop. The Parent’s Right workshop is part of a series of workshops to be offered as an informational resource for parents. Home –School partnerships are critical to student success.
